   Principal's Message

Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them: for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” Luke 18:17

Dear Friends,

I wish to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School community. We are blessed to have the opportunity to nurture the spiritual development and academic achievement of your children, rooted in our faith in Jesus Christ. The sense of promise that is celebrated each day at school provides many wonderful experiences for the children of our community.

Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School has proudly supported the learning needs of children for 15 years. The spirit and goodwill of our community is evident in every person and is a testament to excellence in Catholic education. The opportunity to share in the gifts and blessings of your children each day is a valued and sacred trust.

At Jeanne Sauvé, our Catholic Community of Caring works to develop our students into Catholic Stewards of Creation. Our ecological projects as well as the expectations we have and the support we provide for students to grow in caring and compassion allow our students to meet the Catholic Graduate Expectations.

Our goal at Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School is to continue to foster excellence in learning for the children entrusted to our care. We wish to thank you for the grace with which you impart your Faith in our community and welcome you as an active participant in the spirit and life of our school.

We pray that God will bless all of the parents and staff of Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School who give their time and talents so lovingly to serve children in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Karyn Bruneel

Principal

  Our Wonderful Volunteers

The Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School community is blessed to be served by fantastic volunteers. We benefit each day from the gifts of many parents who contribute their time with grace to serve the needs of the students in our community.

Our volunteers serve in many capacities: Reading with Students, Career Sharing, Library Support, Class Representatives, Fundraising Events, Safe and Healthy Schools, Outdoor Recreation,  Visual Arts, Drama and Athletics Coaching, and many more.

We are blessed to have the opportunity for The Rosary Apostolate at Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School. Volunteers visit the students in their classrooms once a month to pray the rosary. The volunteers distribute keepsake rosaries for each child to take home in order that the children might be encouraged to pray with their family.

Thank you to our many school volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your child's teacher or the office at 519-273-3396.

Catholic Community of Caring Expectations

Our Catholic Community of Caring is based on Jesus' commandment "Love one another as I have loved you." John 13:34-35

At Jeanne Sauvé, we work together to develop our Catholic Community of Caring through learning how to keep Jesus' commandment and by being people who care.

Respect

   People who care:

bullet

are polite (please, thank you, pardon me, yes)

bullet

respect themselves (take care of themselves: hygiene, grooming, dress, etc)

bullet

respect property by taking care that they don't break/ruin things they use and by returning what they have borrowed (in the me condition) to the person they borrowed from as soon as they are finished with it

bullet

apologize when they hurt someone without being told (whether the hurt was on purpose or not)

bullet

refrain from gossiping and teasing

bullet

are respectful of their elders and authority (i.e. following rules)

Responsibility

   People who care:

bullet

offer to help without being asked

bullet

do their share of the work, on time

stand up for what is right without hurting others

Caring

   People who care:

bullet

accept and value others for who they are (they do not put down or tease or gang up on others)

bullet

encourage and compliment others

bullet

think of others first (put the needs of others first: giving a thirsty friend a drink before taking one for yourself, letting your friend have the last cookie, stepping aside to let an elderly person go before you)

bullet

show appreciation for what is done for them by saying thank you and by returning favours

bullet

are compassionate (they try to understand others' needs and feelings, and to help to give them what they need)
