Safe & Healthy

Home Class Our Faith FI Program News Resources Safe & Healthy Catholic School Advisory Council Welcome

The safety and well-being of all children at Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School is a paramount concern and sacred trust for the staff and parents of our school.  Each day we welcome children who have serious anaphylactic reactions to food products.  In order to provide a safe learning environment for all children, please remember that Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School maintains an 'Nut Safe'  environment.  We also strive to be cognizant of milder environmental allergies of our staff and students to perfumes and scented products. As much as possible, we limit the use of any strong scents within the school.

In accordance with the new Ontario legislation entitled ‘Sabrina’s Law’ and the policies and procedures of the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board, students are not to bring foods to school that contain peanuts or nut products.  Allergy alert signs are posted within the building to remind students, staff and parents.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to you on behalf of the Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School community for your continued support of our policy toward life threatening allergies.

Stay Home When Ill

Students, staff and volunteers who become ill should be encouraged to stay home until they no longer have a fever and are well. Parents should be encouraged to develop contingency plans for child care should their child become ill with influenza-like illness (ILI).

Proactive. Prepared.
